“ Dec. 2, 2022, Playing catch up my reviews today. Dined for the first time here at this scratch kitchen based on reviews. Fortunately, we had a reservation, as there are less than ten indoor tables in the main dining area. It was too chilly to dine Al fresco that night. Not to mention The Marshall Tucker band was in town for a big, sold out show at Gruene Hall just down the road. I tried the Wagyu meatloaf, garlic mashed and asparagus. The meatloaf sauce was carmelized mushrooms and onion with a Cabarnet Sauvignon Demi. It was very good but a little sweet for my liking (I still love Max and Louie's meatloaf the most!). Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. Wife had the River House Burger. It is normally served only at lunch, but they happily accommodated her. It was 1/2 pound Wagyu with 5 year aged cheddar. She said it was one of the best she's had, and she is picky! Many of the patrons seemed to be ordering the chicken fried chicken with the duck fat gravy. It looked scrumptious! Our server was very sweet and attentive. We were too full to try desert. It's a bit pricey, but will return for special occasions. Classy place with a country vibe. ”

“ We had a great time at The River House. Short wait despite being very busy during Sunday brunch. Last minute reservation through Yelp saved us. Relax and plan on spending a little time here. The kitchen is really slow. Service was great. Attentive, friendly, and upfront about the kitchen being overwhelmed. Food was good, although the quiche was a little salty. Eggs Benedict and stuffed waffles (say "yes" to the stuffing!) were top notch. Mimosas done right! Grab a second round while you wait! Street parking. Reservations recommended. Dog friendly on the patio. Priced appropriately. ”

“ If outdoor patio dining is good for the Soul, then The River House at 1617 New Braunfels St. in New Braunfels of course, is just the place to fill your Soul and satisfy your appetite. I've been here a couple times and have never been disappointed. The service is personal and friendly. The Vibe, is casual and relaxed with a Shaby Chic edge. There is seating both outside among mature foliage as well as air-conditioned comfort. On my last visit I ordered the Potato-Bacon Quiche shown here with soup & salad. The fruit on this plate comes from a local grower and was absolutely fresh and sweet. This might just be my new favorite here. Reservations are not required but, recommended because The River House does get busy by Noon. They can be reach at (830) 608-0690. I also recommend exploring the local shops all within walking distance, after your meal. I hope you get a chance to enjoy The River House as much as I do. Eat in Good Health. ”

“ The patio is so relaxing and peaceful. During our visit only the appetizers were available. We enjoyed the wagyu sliders and Nashville hot chicken sliders. The fried green tomatoes were crunchy and delicious. The deviled eggs were unique with the candied bacon topping. I'd love to go back when the full menu is available. ”

“ Ate brunch here on a Sunday. Service and ambiance were very good. We sat outside and had a cool view of the woods. A few deer walked by as we ate. I ordered the blueberry French Toast. However they were out of blueberries? They served it with a peach syrup instead. A bit disappointed with that as I ha seen them on the menu in Yelp before hand and was looking forward to them. We also had two carafes of mimosas and they were $20 each . I thought this was a bit pricey. We had one app and 4 total breakfast plates. Total bill for 4 was $180. Seems expensive for a brunch but we ordered it so.... It was nice but due to the price we probably will not go again unless a special occasion. ”
